When do I require a certificate of origin?

It is the buyer/consignee who will confirm when a certificate of origin is required.

As an example, a C of O is generally required for all shipments going to countries in the Middle East. It isn’t possible for a UK shipper to know if one is definitely required therefore they should always ask the buyer to confirm. Once it is ascertained that a C of O is required, the buyer should also confirm if it requires certification (by a Chamber of Commerce) or legalisation (by an Embassy).
